Agreement to Terms
1. Acceptance of Works
By using our services, you agree to the terms outlined below. We reserve the right to accept or decline work requests at our discretion, without obligation to provide a reason. When a booking is made, the contract is between you (the consumer) and ARV Plumbing & Maintenance (the service provider).
2. Quotations and Call Out Charges

12AM - 8AM | £150 | £70 per hour, charged in 30-minute increments |
- Free Quotations: We provide free, no-obligation quotations for standard work where a quote can be given without investigation.
- Call Out Charges for Fault Finding & Diagnosis: If a quotation requires fault finding, testing, or diagnosis to identify the issue, a call-out charge may apply as per our standard rates.
- Call-Out Charges Policy: Call-out charges are payable even if no work is carried out after the visit.
- Minimum Fee: A minimum charge of one hour's labour, plus parts, applies to all appointments, unless agreed otherwise at the time of booking.
- Additional Labor: Any time on-site exceeding 1 hour will be charged at the 30-minute rate specified. Time spent sourcing or collecting parts during the job is also considered part of the labour and will be charged accordingly.
- Discounts: Discounts are only valid if quoted and agreed upon at the time of booking.
- Cancellation: You will be liable for reimbursing any expenses incurred if you cancel an accepted estimate.
3. Payment
- Invoices: Payment is due in full immediately upon completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing. Payment methods accepted include bank transfer, card, or cash.
- Third-Party Representation: If a third party represents you, they will be responsible for payment if you fail to settle the invoice unless agreed otherwise in writing.
4. Attendance and Completion of Works
- Scheduling: We will inform you of the date and time for the work. We aim to adhere to this schedule but accept no liability for delays or non-attendance. All times provided are estimates. "If we are unable to attend due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., severe weather, unforeseen emergencies), we will inform you as soon as possible and reschedule at the earliest convenience.
5. Limitation of Liability
Faulty Workmanship
Liability is limited to:
- Repairing or rectifying defects.
- Liability for personal injury or death due to negligence.
- Costs of repairing or reinstating property damage caused by our negligence.
Exclusions
We are not responsible for:
- Damage from defects or weaknesses in the property.
- Damage from investigating and repairing services, including removal of fixtures or materials.
- Damage to wallpaper, paintwork, or other items unless we have been advised to protect them.
- We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of earnings or business interruption.
6. Defects
- Notification: Defects must be reported within 7 days of completion of work. We will inspect the work if payment is complete. We reserve the right to determine if a reported defect is due to our workmanship or another underlying issue.
- Charges: If defects are not due to our work, we may charge for the inspection.
7. Permits, Licenses, Regulations, and Access
- Customer's Responsibility: You must obtain all necessary permissions, permits, and licences before work begins. You are also responsible for access to neighbouring properties if required. If permissions are not obtained, work may not proceed, and charges may still apply.
8. Removal of Waste and Materials
- Waste Removal: We are not responsible for waste disposal unless explicitly agreed in the quotation. If removal is requested, an additional charge may apply.
9. Guarantees
- Labor Guarantee: We provide a 12-month guarantee for labour only, covering faulty workmanship. Parts and equipment are covered by manufacturer warranties.

Exclusions: Guarantees are void if:
- Misused or neglected.
- Modified by anyone other than us.
- Blockages: We do not guarantee work related to blockages. Guarantees do not cover recurring or pre-existing blockages.
10. Intellectual Property Rights
- Content: All content on our website, including graphics and logos, is owned by ARV Plumbing & Maintenance. Reproduction or distribution without written consent is prohibited.
11. Complaints Procedure
- Procedure: Complaints should be sent in writing via email to contact@arv-plumbing.co.uk. We will address complaints promptly. If unresolved, complaints may be escalated to an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) body.
12. Notice of Your Right to Cancel
- Cancellation Right: You have the right to cancel the contract within 14 calendar days of receiving this notice. If work commences before the end of this period with your explicit consent, charges will apply for services performed up to the point of cancellation.
- Cancellation Notice: You can notify us of cancellation by sending an email to contact@arv-plumbing.co.uk or by following the instructions in the booking confirmation email.
13. Data Protection
- Privacy: We comply with GDPR regulations. You have the right to access, rectify, or delete your personal data. For full details, refer to our Privacy Policy.
14. Cookies

15. Jurisdiction
- Governing Law: These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
